It was inevitable that my good weather record would run out at some point. Hayley and Joe had a shocker of a day in October - rain from start to end. Did this dampen their day or hamper us at all? - quite the contrary. Brides often worry whether rain will ruin their photos - absolutely not! I work with you and what you want to do, either embracing the rain or embracing your venue's interior spaces. Luckily Hayley and Joe had chosen the Assembly House. Not only is the interior spectacular, but Jamie and the team couldn't have been more accommodating - allowing me access into rooms as they became available.
Having captured Hayley's sister's wedding a couple of years ago, it was wonderful to see the whole family again. My job was easy - document their loving relationships and the story and details along the way. I popped into the room suites to catch up with the girls, before heading back into the Grand Hall to see Joe and the guys looking dapper, if a bit nervous. When it was time for the bridal party to walk around, the Assembly House team kept them all dry under a huge parasol. Hayley looked stunning in a lace detailed Anna Sorrano gown.
Their ceremony in the Pierce Room was intimate & emotional and afterwards we restructured the Grand Hall to throw confetti and capture some lovely formal groups. I then took Hayley and Joe on a greatest hits tour of my favourite inside spaces, showcasing their love and elegance. The room had been beautifully set for dinner and I enjoyed all the surprise speeches. From the stories of Dougal to Haynes manuals to a brilliant forgotten speech video by the groom's dad and brother. This wedding really did have it all! Congrats H&J.
