Your East Anglian Wedding Magazine Styled Feature at Oxnead Hall

In a world full of wedding pastels, bold colour can be something couples shy away from.

It might be a lack of confidence in how to style colour as trends differ and magazines focus on muted tones. It’s one of the main points which comes up time and time again in my consultations. So with this in mind I decided to pull together a styled shoot to help inspire the colourful brides and grooms to be. One of my favourite art movements is Fauvism; a group of French painters in the Edwardian era who burst on to the scene on the back of Impressionism and some would say kick started Expressionism, Cubism and the bold use of colour. Their use of colour is astounding, pulled together by a deep prussian blue. I wondered whether their ideas and use of colour would work in bridal.

Having just won EDP Bride Wedding Photographer of the Year, I contacted Emily Andrew of Your Norfolk Wedding to help pull these crazy ideas in my head together and contacted all the other winners to see whether they’d like to take part. Flicking back through the images I’m so thrilled with what we created and I’ll be featuring different sections of the shoot in the New Year and talking about the concepts in more detail. Our first print feature is in Your East Anglian Wedding Magazine which is on sale now in WH Smiths and on the app Readily. We’re also featured in EDP Bride magazine on sale in a couple of short weeks. Thank you to each and every talented woman who added their magic and passion to this project.
