High five 2019 and thanks to everyone who’s supported me throughout the year. It’s been busy. 2019 marked my tenth year as a full-time wedding photographer, to celebrate the occasion I threw an afternoon party at the Assembly House in Norwich. It was lovely to catch up with so many couples from across the years. The biggest change this year is I’m now not shooting solo. I’ve loved having Mark Hewlett’s infectious enthusiasm and documentary eye along on my full-day weddings - I know you have too. Next week on the blog Mark rounds up his favourite moments of the year.
During 2019 I’ve taken a break from the UK organisations I was a qualified member of, to concentrate on education. In the summer I joined Sue Bryce Education to continue my learning in everything from styling to lighting to business. In July’s The Portrait Masters Awards - announced in Arizona - I was thrilled to win seven merit bronze certificates for my portrait work, in fact every image I entered scored a high international mark. The next competition is announced in March and I’ve been working hard to do even better. My commercial agent Alamy has been selling more images than ever before, I’ve cropped up in National editorial features, websites and even calendars. I’ve photographed in Northern Ireland and Tim Walker inspired haute couture in the Midlands. I’ve also dived into local legends and mythology - all under wraps for the moment - I know what a tease.
2019 also saw me expand into children’s fine art and creative portraiture. I’m thrilled to say the website is live and bookings are open! Back in the summer Evey starred as Alice in Wonderland and six magical images were exhibited in the corridors of the Assembly House to celebrate their themed afternoon tea.
So back to weddings, I have only four spots remaining in 2020. These are mainly in the months of July, August and September. Saturdays still available are July 8th & 18th, August 15th, 22nd & 29th, September 5th, 12th & 26th. Contact me asap for more details. I’m also thrilled to be attending Titchwell Manor’s Wedding Party Evening on 31st January, which will be an informal night of music and chat. Hopefully I’ll see you there.
That's enough social ramblings from me, thank you to everyone that's helped behind the lens (including Dave, Evey, Jill and Rachael) or been fabulous in front of it. A huge congratulations to my couple of the year Melissa & Michael - as voted by you on instagram. I also want to say a huge thank you to my recommended venues Cley Windmill, Pentney Abbey, Oxnead Hall, Titchwell Manor, Dairy Barns, Bessingham Manor and Assembly House; I can’t wait to be back with you in the coming months. Roll on the next decade.
