Becka and Piet's wedding at the Boathouse Ormesby was equally romantic and elegant.
My day started with Becka and her bridesmaids getting ready in one of the venue's hotel rooms. They're such a lovely group of ladies and was wonderful to catch up with Pav – a bride from last year. Becka's styling was classically beautiful. Her Essence of Australia gown fitted her perfectly, with a diamonte belt and hair piece on her chignon added detailing. The bridesmaids wore flowing chiffon asymmetric gowns in jade. Piet (on the other hand) had an energetic start to the day with several of the guests completing a local park run. A talented triathlete, when Piet's not active I don't know how he copes! He wore a classic navy suit with ivory waistcoat and peach rose and succulent buttonhole to match the ladies' bouquets.
One of the most romantic ways to arrive at any venue in Norfolk must be by boat. An excited vibe took hold of the guests waiting on the decking as 'Gentleman Jim' appeared in the distance and made its way along the broad. Becka and the bridal party made their way along the jetty to an emotional Piet and a beautiful ceremony in the sunshine. Straight after the ceremony came one of my highlights of the day – the boat ride. It was so special to share their first moment as husband & wife and I'd have been happy to stay on the broad all day. I know they felt the same way and Piet loved his time behind the wheel.
The reception room was decorated with classic Norfolk Broads posters, lace jars and colourful florals. The food was tasty and the speeches emotional. This is a venue which comes alive in the right weather. We were lucky all day as the sun shone and were graced with a reasonable sunset for the time of year. As the moon rose, the dancing began. I was in on their salsa secret, they'd put alot of effort into a fantastic choreographed first dance. The latin beats continued with their amazing guests giving Strictly a run for its money. I had an absolute ball, thanks for having me along to capture every single moment.
